Ever wonder how The Nutcracker began and its history of becoming one of the most beloved, well-attended productions that a ballet company can produce? Who choreographed the first production? Is the story based on a book or is there a book based on the ballet? Was Tchaikovsky commissioned to write the famous music for the ballet or an earlier symphony which turned into a ballet?

Join Peter Anastos and Carl Daugenti and take an enlightening journey into the story behind the story and learn interesting facts about past productions that have all brought The Nutcracker to be one of the most memorable events of the holiday season. Enjoy a sneak peek of the set models and costume samples designed by famed New York designer, Christina Gianinni exclusively for Ballet Idaho’s 2008 all new production.
