Biography

Anissa Bailis is from Cary, North Carolina. She received her training on full scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) in their Professional Division. She attended summer programs on full scholarship at PNB and The School of American Ballet, and also attended American Ballet Theatre and Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive. Her training began with International Ballet Academy (IBA) under Rossana Nesta Gahagan. She competed at Youth America Grand Prix in 2013-2015 and was in the top 12 in both classical and contemporary, and YAGP 2015 NY Finals.

While at PNB in the Professional Division, Anissa danced with the company. Her repertory included Marzipan, Spanish Corps, Waltz of the Flowers, and Snow Corps in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. Also, she danced in George Balanchine’s Coppélia, West Side Story Suite as a Jet Girl, and George Balanchine’s Symphony in C. In PNB’s Petite Finale school performance, she danced the Waltz of the Hours variation from Coppélia. At IBA, she performed lead roles as Odile, Sugar Plum, Gamzatti, Aurora, and George Balanchine’s Western Symphony staged by Melinda Roy. 2017/18 is her first season with Ballet Idaho.
