Toni Renee, native of Cincinnati, Ohio, started her training at Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts as a ballet and drama major. There she developed a strong stage presence after performing in many different ballets, plays, and musicals. Her featured roles include, Helena in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Clara, Arabian, Lead Flute, and King Mouse in The Nutcracker. Toni Renee attended summer intensives at Cincinnati Ballet, The Sarasota Ballet, and the Carreño-Barbieri Festival. She also attended multiple workshops and masterclasses from Amy Seiwert Imagery, Martha Graham Dance Company, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Paul Taylor American Modern Dance Company, Robert Moses, and Laura Alonso. Toni Renee continued her training as a Pre-Trainee at The Sarasota Ballet’s Margaret Barbieri Conservatory of Dance, a pre-professional ballet program. There she has performed and understudied various works with The Sarasota Ballet Company. Those works include, George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes and Diamonds, Matthew Hart’s John Ringling Circus Nutcracker, Sir Frederick Ashton’s La Fille Mal Gardée and The Two Pigeons, and Michel Fokine’s Petrushka and Les Sylphides.
Aside from performing, she loves choreographing new works that tell her story and spark the imagination of others. She is also a certified Pilates instructor, and enjoys writing on her dance and travel blogs. Toni Renee is proud to call Boise her new home and begin her first season with Ballet Idaho as an apprentice for the 2017/18 season.
