Ian Rotheroe
Company Artist

Ian was born in New York City and started his ballet training at the age of 6 with the American Ballet Theater JKO School. Ian spent 7 years training with Manhattan Youth Ballet, learning a variety of balletic and contemporary styles, under the direction of Deborah Wingert, Brian Reeder, and Marina Stavitskaya. He has attended summer intensives around the world, including the Royal Danish Ballet, Ellison Ballet, and the Royal Ballet programs. In the summer of 2020, Ian participated in the Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) Summer Intensive. At the conclusion of the intensive, Ian was invited by Artistic Director Peter Boal to join the Professional Division at PNB, where he received the final 2 years of his training, graduating in June of 2022. At PNB, Ian received the opportunity to perform alongside the professional company in George Balanchine works, such as The Nutcrackerand Diamonds, as well as Kent Stowell’s production of SwanLake. Additionally, Ian performed in productions with his fellow Professional Division Students, including Bruce Wells’ Beautyand the Beast and pieces choreographed by PNB company members Dylan Wald, Jonathan Batista, James Kirby Rogers, Miles Pertl, Christopher D’Ariano, Mark Cuddihee, and PNB faculty member Eva Stone. After participating as a Guest Artist in Ballet Idaho’s production of Bruce Wells’ Beauty and the Beastlast season, Ian is thrilled to be joining for the 2022-23 season!

This is Ian’s first Season with Ballet Idaho.
