Nell Josephine

Ballet Idaho Company Dancer

Nell Josephine Rollins, an Idaho native, received her training from Balance Dance Company and Ballet Idaho.  At 17, she joined Ballet Idaho as an Apprentice and the next year performed as a Guest Artist with LED and Idaho Dance Theatre.  Following that, she enrolled at the University of Utah for a BFA in Ballet and graduated in May 2018 with an additional Studio Teaching Certificate and a focus in Choreography.

She has attended multiple summer programs under scholarship including, Springboard Dans Montreal, Hubbard Street, Arts Umbrella, and Houston Ballet.  At these programs, she has studied and performed repertoire by William Forsythe, Sharon Eyal, Crystal Pite, Alejandro Cerrudo, and Stanton Welch, to name a few.

After returning to Ballet Idaho, Nell has performed soloist roles by Penny Saunders, Robyn Mineko Williams, Alejandro Cerrudo, and Lauren Edson. She also had the absolute pleasure of performing as the Fall Fairy in Edwaard Liang’s Cinderella as well as perform a role she dreamed about doing since she was 13 — the Arabian variation from The Nutcracker.

This will be Nell’s third season with Ballet Idaho and she looks forward to creating and sharing art in a new way.
