Shane Horan

Ballet Idaho Company Dancer


Shane was born and raised in Albany, New York. At the age of 4 he began dancing at the School of the Albany Berkshire Ballet, where he continued to study throughout his youth. In 2012, Shane continued his dance education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City under the direction of Paula Weber. In 2014 he joined Kansas City Ballet as a member of their Second Company, dancing in full-length ballets by Septime Webre and Devon Carney. In December 2015, Shane was invited to join Ballet Idaho as a Company Member.

Some of his most memorable performances with the company include featured roles in Lar Lubovitch’s Something About Night, George Balanchine’s Agon, Craig Davidson’s Ambiguous Content, and Penny Saunders’ So to Speak. In addition to his work with Ballet Idaho, Shane has performed as a guest artist with many organizations, having danced in works by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and many others.

This is his sixth season with Ballet Idaho.
