Anissa Bailis
Company Artist

Anissa is from Cary, North Carolina where she began her training with International Ballet  Academy under Rossana Nesta. She received training on full scholarship at Pacific Northwest  Ballet (PNB) in their Professional Division. She attended summer programs on full scholarship  at PNB and The School of American Ballet, and also attended American Ballet Theatre and  Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive. She then competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2013- 2015, placing in the top 12 in both classical and contemporary, and then competed in the YAGP  2015 NY Finals.  

While at PNB in the Professional Division, Anissa danced with the company. Her repertory  included Marzipan, Spanish Corps, Waltz of the Flowers, and Snow Corps in George  Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. She has also danced in George Balanchine’s Coppélia, West Side Story Suite as a Jet Girl, and in Symphony in C. She has also performed with  LED of Boise and at Treefort Music Festival. 

Her works with Ballet Idaho have included Serenade as Russian Demi-soloist, Allegro Brillante and Agon by George Balanchine; Stepsister and Winter Fairy in  Cinderella by Edwaard Liang; Snow Queen and Marzipan lead in The Nutcracker and Raymonda’s Wedding by Peter Anastos; Yet Not Too Near by Yusha-Marie Sorzano; Duck in Peter and the Wolf by Anne Mueller; Shot in the Dark, Main Daughter in So to Speak and Down the Dixie Line by Penny Saunders; Once Familiar and Ghost (Light) by Craig Davidson; Offscreen and Lickety Split by Alejandro Cerrudo; Moments Musicaux by Garrett Anderson; The Art of Losing by Lauren Edson; Shadow of Eden by Quinn Wharton; and Grey Horses by Robyn  Mineko Williams. 

This is Anissa’s sixth season with Ballet Idaho.
