Employment Opportunity: Academy Administrator


The Academy Administrator reports directly to the Academy Director and carries out activities related to academy management including enrollment, registration and payments, record keeping, front desk supervision, and maintenance of online course catalogue. The Academy Administrator may also assist with academy performance and promotional events.


Student and Parent Relations
• Acts as primary contact for general parent and student questions
• Refers curriculum-specific and artistic-specific questions to Academy Director
• Refers parent and student concerns to the Academy Director
• Keeps Academy Director abreast of all academy issues
• Effectively communicates Academy calendar items, events, and scheduling to parents and students over the phone and via email
• Assists parents and students in the enrollment process by providing scheduling information and answering general questions regarding the Academy
• Supplies Front Desk Attendant(s) with up-to-date information to facilitate excellent customer service

Front Desk Supervision
• Reviews resumes and interviews potential candidates for front desk position
• Provides direct oversight for front desk personnel
• Schedules front desk hours to coincide with Academy class hours in accordance with budget allotment
• Assists in assigning front desk duties and responsibilities

Class Catalogue and Registration
• Maintains online catalogue of class offerings in Academy database
• Maintains necessary forms for registration including registration form, tuition schedule, and Academy event calendar
• Processes registration requests for youth and adult students and provides enrollment confirmation
• Maintains registration records
• Supplies Academy Director with status updates as to class enrollment

Academy Records
• Reconciles Academy payment records and Ballet Idaho deposit records
• Maintains accurate parent and student contact information
• Collects payments and maintains accurate payment records for all Academy classes and events
• Collects attendance records from instructors and maintains information in Mind Body and processes all change and withdrawal requests
• Assists in maintains audition participation records and recital participation records
• Runs reports for Academy Director or Marketing Director as needed

• Assists Academy Director in drafting annual Academy budget
• Acts as ticket manager for Academy year-end performances
• Provides daytime front desk and phone coverage
• Other duties as assigned

• Proficient in databases and Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Possess a professional demeanor
• Ability to take direction, set priorities, and be flexible
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience

Employment Opportunity: Costume Director

Ballet Idaho and Opera Idaho are searching for a joint Costume Director for our upcoming 2016-2017 season. Opera Idaho, a twelve week contract, and Ballet Idaho, twenty three weeks, will be producing six mainstage and two showcase productions collectively. Responsibilities: Organization and management of all costumes, costume inventory, hair and makeup, scheduling, costume fittings, adjustments, and repairs. Cleaning all costumes, whether company owned or rented, facilitating the construction of all costumes. Coordinate in conjunction with the Marketing Dept. all costume related needs for photoshoots scheduled during designated weeks, including laundry and care of items. Attend all production and staff meetings, and maintain the wardrobe/ costume budget for the duration of the season with supervision from the Production Manager. Manage the ordering and shipment of shoes (pointe, flat, character, etc.), and act as wardrobe supervisor during performance weeks. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree, or at least three years professional experience. Must be familiar with the sewing practices of today. Stellar communication skills. Must be willing to learn or already know how to manage/ balance a budget. Must have a leader’s attitude when dealing with venue crews, local or abroad. A knowledge of ballet costumes (tutus, leotards, etc.) and pointe shoes. Boise Arts Organizations to Co-Host Idaho Gives Block Party This May

Boise, ID – April 21, 2016 – Arts organizations in the downtown Boise Cultural District announced today that they will co-host an Arts Block Party on May 5, 2016 to celebrate Idaho Gives. The party will focus on families and our community, and will offer a taste of how each organization serves our local youth through various educational arts programs and events. The hashtag #idahogivescreativity has been created for the event.

Participating arts organizations include Ballet Idaho, Boise Art Museum, Boise Contemporary Theater, Boise Philharmonic, Boise Rock School, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Opera Idaho, and the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. The event serves to further the mission shared by each participating organization to broaden and strengthen the community impact of arts organizations in Idaho.

The Idaho Gives Arts Block Party will take place in the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy parking lot on the southeast corner of 9th and Myrtle from 4 – 7 pm on Thursday, May 5. Each organization will have information on its offerings for youth, families, and community members.

Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to experience first-hand youth-oriented entertainment and performance samplings from the various organizations. Boise Rock School and Rock on Wheels will be here along with a bounce-house for kids free of charge.

Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase via local food trucks and vendors, including Pie Hole Pizza.

The Myrtle & 9th parking lot and the alleyway between buildings will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

QR codes will be available at the Block Party for instantaneous donations to any or all of the organizations for Idaho Gives. There will also be raffle tickets and prizes throughout the event.
