Emily Wallace
Ballet Idaho Academy Director
About:
Emily grew up in Schenectady, NY, and trained in Saratoga Springs and Buffalo, NY. After a professional career with Nevada Dance Theatre, Ballet Iowa, and Ballet Omaha, she earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa, holding a 3-year Teaching Assistantship. Afterwards, she worked at the University of Idaho as an assistant professor and later as program director. Prior to coming to Ballet Idaho, Emily lived with her family in Cremolino, Italy, where she ran a Bed & Breakfast and Winery and hosted summer programs in Dance, Art, and Education. Some of her cherished career influences come from working with Elizabeth Carroll, Olga Kostritzky, Francoise Martinet, and David Howard, and she loves to share these influences and many more with her students.
Why did you join the Ballet Idaho family?
Ballet is a beautiful, highly disciplined art form, and its true expressiveness comes when the artist is most accomplished.
