Christine proudly considers herself to be a native Idahoan after 20 years of living in this great city of Boise. She grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Merchandising Management. Upon relocating to Boise, Christine spent time working in retail followed by 15 years of working in procurement for a local interior design company. She is fortunate for the time spent as a stay-at-home mom which led to being involved in elementary schools and PTO. The creative aspect of working in the field of interior design and organizing an art exhibit for a school fundraiser event sparked her interest to pursue a full-time career that was both creative and meaningful.
Why did you join the Ballet Idaho family?
My love for dance began with tap and jazz and blossomed to ballet during the holiday season in SF while having viewed a live dress rehearsal and later a ballet rendition of “Santa Baby.” I enrolled in evening classes and to this day wish I had committed myself to the art. It was fortuitous that in 2017 I stumbled upon Ballet Idaho while seeking employment opportunities with a non-profit company. I am thrilled to be a part of the company and to be able to devote myself to an organization that has such great camaraderie and a shared passion for working together to provide something beautiful and truly meaningful to the Boise community.
If we were to dance to any song, which one would you choose?
Johnny Cash’s- Hurt. His voice is deeply and hauntingly soulful in this remake and I can just visualize our company dancers performing it in this manner onstage.
