ABOUT THE BALLET COMPANY INTENSIVE
You’ll get the best of both worlds – a summer intensive with exceptional technical and artistic training and a one-of-a-kind dance experience giving you an inside scoop on life inside of a professional company. Ballet Idaho and their dancers will be your host. For three days you’ll become part of a professional ballet company.
We meet competitive and conservatory dancers where they are in their training journey. Our teaching artists and mentors will travel through The Ballet Company Intensive together with each individual student – honoring their uniqueness, encouraging growth, and challenging them to realize their potential. Where a student finds themselves on their journey is less important than their willingness to learn and to challenge themselves.
Frequently called a ‘breath of fresh air’ by students, parents, teachers and directors alike, every one of Francisco Gella’s programs delivers on a central commitment: to transform hardworking young adults into remarkable young artists regardless of body type or background, and instilling a belief in them that anything is possible with hard work, a sense of purpose, and a willingness to take risks.
Garrett, Francisco, and the other teaching artists including Ballet Idaho company members will be your mentors and guides through the experience. They will generously share their vast experience and knowledge to challenge you and help you grow, give you the tools to refine your artistry, and teach you all they know about the world of dance. In just three days you’ll see dance from a whole new perspective, and with the exceptional training you’ll be more prepared to take full advantage of the remaining summer dance experiences that lie ahead.
You’ll also meet and be seen by teaching artists with vast connections across the industry. So who knows? You may get connected to college and career opportunities that will help you reach the goals you have set for yourself. Or if you’re unsure about what the future holds and where your interests may take you, Garrett, Francisco and the rest of the faculty will help you ask the right questions to sharpen your focus for the choices you’ll be making.
