Read on for audition information for the 26/27 Ballet Idaho Season.

Open Call

Applicants interested in auditioning for the 26/27 season may audition at the open call audition. All interested applicants should send their resume and video reel prior to the open audition to companyauditions@balletidaho.org in the format below, which follows the International Audition Pre-Screening Guidelines.

Company Class Auditions

Company Class Auditions will only be considered for applicants who have held a full company position (not as a trainee, second company member, or apprentice) for at least one full season. If requesting a company class audition, please email companyauditions@balletidaho.org with the request, and state the reason for the request in the body of the message. Applicants should include a resume and video reel in the format below, which follows the International Audition Pre-Screening Guidelines.

Pre-Screening Guidelines

Height Requirements

Female Identifying Dancers:

  • minimum height is 5 feet, 2 inches
  • maximum height is 5 feet, 8 inches

Male Identifying Dancers:

  • minimum height is 5 feet, 7 inches
  • maximum height is 6 feet, 4 inches

Performance Footage

  • a simple video (no introduction or elaborate editing required), consisting of the following performed in leotard and tights for female identifying dancers and tight-fitting dance attire for male identifying dancers
  • a short classical variation drawn from the standard repertoire, danced in pointe shoes by female identifying dancers
  • a short contemporary variation (that could consist of something drawn from the repertoire, phrases from classwork, or an applicant-created work) that illustrates the applicant’s command of a range of movements different from that demonstrated in the classical variation
  • 3-5 minutes of center work that includes adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro, danced in pointe shoes by female identifying dancers
  • 3-5 minutes of classical partnering that includes adagio, pirouettes, and presage

  • performance experience, training, height, awards received, date of birth, and citizenship
  • specify your legal status in the US, including visa or green card status if applicable
  • all contact information
  • headshot
  • 2-3 dance photos- must reveal the dancer’s body proportions and line
