About:

Anissa has been a professional dancer with Ballet Idaho since 2017. She is from Cary, North Carolina, where she began her training with International Ballet Academy under Rossana Nesta. She received training on full scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) in their Professional Division. She attended summer programs on full scholarship at PNB and The School of American Ballet, and also attended American Ballet Theatre and Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive. She then competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2013-2015, placing in the top 12 in both classical and contemporary, and then competed in the YAGP 2015 New York Finals.

While at PNB in the Professional Division, Anissa danced with the company. Her repertory included Marzipan, Spanish Corps, Waltz of the Flowers, and Snow Corps in George Balanchine’s, The Nutcracker. She has also danced in George Balanchine’s, Coppélia, West Side Story Suite as a Jet Girl, and George Balanchine’s, Symphony in C. In PNB’s Petite Finale school performance, she danced the Waltz of the Hours variation from Coppélia. She has also performed with LED of Boise and at Treefort Music Festival.

Her works with Ballet Idaho have included Balanchine’s, Serenade, Allegro Brillante and Agon, Snow Queen and Marzipan leads in The Nutcracker, Stepsister and Winter Fairy in Cinderella, and Raymonda’s Wedding. She has also been in works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Yusha-Marie Sorzano, Garrett Anderson, Anne Mueller, Penny Saunders, Craig Davidson, and Robyn Mineko Williams.

Anissa began teaching ballet, pointe, variations, jazz, and contemporary in North Carolina where she has taught at the International Ballet Academy, The Raleigh School of Ballet, and the Renner Dance Company. She currently teaches at Ballet Idaho Academy and Impact Dance Center. She has created works for Ballet Idaho’s Trainee program, Ballet Idaho Academy, and International Ballet Academy.
