Ballet Idaho Academy (BIA) provides students with a unique opportunity to learn, observe, and be inspired by a professional company of dancers, choreographers, and highly skilled instructors.
Our mission is to train young dancers through Musicality, Technical Precision, and Artistic Expression. We strive to develop accomplished dancers and well-rounded healthy individuals. We believe that a proper dance education builds self-determination and confidence, poise and posture, a strong work ethic, and teamwork values.
Performance opportunities include recitals, outreach events, and the BIA Youth Company, directed by Jessica Sulikowski. Additionally, students have the opportunity to audition to perform with Ballet Idaho’s professional company in our production of The Nutcracker and other classical ballets. These performance opportunities allow students to fine-tune performance skills and see firsthand the immense impact that dance has on audiences.
BIA has three divisions, which offer different options for students and their individual dance goals and trajectory, whether pursuing a professional career or studying for enjoyment and recreation.
The Children’s Division
BIA Children’s Division includes classes for 3 – 7 year olds, and introduce pre-schoolers to the joy of dance. Students will begin to learn ballet basics, improve movement skills and coordination in a nurturing and creative environment.
The Preparatory and Pre-Professional division offers training for 7 – 18 year olds. Students follow a progressive structure, where training hours increase with advancement to the next level. In order to supplement the Ballet focus and develop versatility, students will also take jazz and contemporary classes.
The Preparatory & Pre-Professional Division
Adult Division
Adult Division
The Adult Division offers beginning and intermediate Adult Ballet Classes to the community. Students 13+ years who wish to begin or continue ballet training are welcome.
