Anissa is from Cary, North Carolina where she began her training with International Ballet Academy under Rossana Nesta. She competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2013-2015, placing in the top 12 in both classical and contemporary, and then competed in the YAGP 2015 NY Finals. She attended American Ballet Theatre and Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive as well as The School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) summer intensives on full scholarship. From 2015-2017, Anissa received training on full scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) in their Professional Division.
Her works with Ballet Idaho have included Walking Mad by Johan Inger; Carmen by Ricardo Amarante, I Lost My Love by Joseph Hernadez, Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15, Allegro Brillante, Agon and Serenade as Russian Demi, Anne Mueller and Garrett Anderson’s Swan Lake, Duck in Peter and the Wolf by Anne Mueller, Stepsister and Winter Fairy in Cinderella, Snow Queen and Marzipan lead in Nutcracker, Raymonda’s Wedding, Extremely Close, Offscreen and Lickety Split by Alejandro Cerrudo, Yet Not Too Near by Yusha-Marie Sorzano, Kiss by Stephanie Martinez, Once Again by Johnathan Fredrickson, Single Shore by Alice Klock and Florian Lochner, Shot in the Dark, Down the Dixie Line, and Main Daughter in So to Speak by Penny Saunders, Once Familiar and Ghost Light by Craig Davidson, Moments Musicaux by Garrett Anderson, The Art of Losing by Lauren Edson, Shadow of Eden by Quinn Wharton, and Grey Horses by Robyn Mineko Williams. Anissa also teaches ballet, pointe, variations, contemporary, and jazz. She currently teaches for Ballet Idaho’s Academy and is a private coach. Anissa also choreographs a range of classical and contemporary works, and has been commissioned to create for Ballet Idaho’s trainee program, Youth Company and for the Youth America Grand Prix program.
