Emily Luria
Company Artist

Emily is originally from Mason, Ohio where she began her dance training with Mason Dance Center and finished her high school years with Steve Bierens and Hannah Dorfmueller at Le Jeune Dance Academy.

Following her high school graduation, Emily was offered a scholarship with BalletMet’s trainee program in Columbus, Ohio where she performed in several company productions from 2018-2020; including Edwaard Liang’s Don Quixote, Cinderella, Tributary, and Alice in Wonderland. During this time she also had opportunities to perform and rehearse principal and soloist roles within the trainee program. After two seasons in the trainee program, Emily was promoted to BalletMet’s second company for the 2020-2021 season. As a member of BalletMet 2, Emily danced in multiple classical and contemporary works both within the second company and alongside the main company, including an opportunity to perform a classical pas de deux choreographed by Edwaard Liang for a mainstage production.

After her time with BalletMet, Emily spent two seasons dancing as a professional company member with Dayton Ballet in Ohio. With Dayton Ballet, she performed in a wide variety of works such as Gerald Arpino’s Confetti, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Limoncello, and Ma Cong’s Calling. She was also very fortunate to perform in leading parts such as Tinkerbell in Septime Webre’s Peter Pan, Jordan Baker in Ron Cunningham’s The Great Gatsby, and the Snow Pas de Deux from Karen Russo Burke’s The Nutcracker.

After her two seasons with Dayton Ballet, Emily joined Ballet Idaho as a company member in 2023. During her time so far with Ballet Idaho, she has enjoyed working with choreographers on pieces such as Joseph Hernandez’s I Lost My Love, Ricardo Amarante’s Carmen, and Garrett Anderson and Anne Mueller’s collaborative creation Congruence in which she performed in a featured duet.

During the summers, she has enjoyed dancing with different collaborative and artistic dance productions including Dayton Dance Initiative and By & Bye: An Unsustainable Art Show by former Ballet Idaho dancer Daniel Ojeda. Along with dancing professionally, Emily has spent some of her time teaching ballet to the next generation of dancers at local dance schools in both the Dayton and Boise areas.

This is Emily’s second season with Ballet Idaho.
