Isichel Perez Rivero
Company Artist

Originally from Camagüey, Cuba, Perez began his journey in dance with Cuban folklore at the age of five. He eventually transitioned into ballroom and performed in theaters across the island. At the age of ten, Perez moved to Mexico where he showcased his culture in theaters and on television shows.  After migrating to the United States at seventeen, he began his ballet training at a local studio in Decatur, Texas . After his senior graduation he moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to train with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary and the mentorship of Simon Ball. In 2017 he joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theater’s Graduate Program where he trained for two years. Perez was then invited to join the Nashville Ballet’s Second Company where he danced in Paul Vasterling’s Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Carnival of the Animals and Peter and the Wolf. In 2020 Perez joined Oregon Ballet Theater II where he performed alongside the company and he was promoted to company apprentice in 2022. During this time he performed works such as Peter Pan by Trey McIntyre, Swan Lake and A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Christopher Stowell, The Nutcracker by George Balanchine, Claire Obscure by Helene Simoneau, Part II by Samuel Hobbs, Firebird by Yuri Possokhov, Dracula by Ben Stevenson, and Fluidity of Steel by Darrell Grand Moultrie. 

In 2024 Perez joined the Ballet Idaho as a company dancer.

During his free time Perez enjoys choreographing, teaching, and coaching ballet.  He also owns and operates the dance apparel company,  Diamanté Dancewear. “Anything is possible as long as you are willing to do the work.”

This is Isichel’s first season with Ballet Idaho.
