Apprentice

Izzy Urbano is from Riverside, California, where she began her dance training at the Riverside Ballet Arts. At age 15, she moved to Boston to continue her training with the Boston Ballet School under the direction of Margaret Tracey. She studied for three years with the school, performing in company and school productions by Mikko Nissinen, Kathleen Mitchell, and Ja’ Malik. She graduated from their Professional Division in 2021 and spent a year attending the University of Arizona School of Dance. During summers, she furthered her dancing by training at intensives such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, the School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet School, and Orsolina28, among others.

Izzy joined Ballet Idaho as a trainee for the 2022-2023 season, performing with the company in George Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15, Peter Anastos’ The Nutcracker, and Garrett Anderson and Anne Mueller’s new production of Swan Lake. She was promoted to apprentice for the following season and performed in Danielle Rowe’s Dreamland, Joseph Hernandez’s I Lost My Love, Garrett Anderson and Anne Mueller’s Congruence, and Johan Inger’s Walking Mad.

This is Izzy’s second season with Ballet Idaho.
